くらむ【眩む】

1 〔めまいがする〕 become dizzy [giddy].

●目がくらむ feel dizzy [giddy]; one's head reels [swims]

・目のくらむような高さから from a giddy height

・目もくらむばかりの輝き a dazzling brightness

・目もくらむほどの強烈な光 a light powerful enough to make one's eyes swim.

●下を見ると目がくらんだ. When I looked down my eyes swam.

・その膨大な量のことを考えただけで目のくらむ思いがする. Just thinking about the amount involved makes me dizzy.

2 〔惑わされる〕 be dazzled; be blinded.
